40 WINKS GAME REVIEW

40 Winks or Ruff and Tumble as it's called in Germany is a fun but scary video game for the old PS1. It's not really a horror game but it does have some scary moments.

In this game you take control of either Ruff or his sister Tumble and you need to free the Winks from the evil NiteKap and his assistant called Threadbear. Winks are small and white creatures and they're responsible for our good dreams. However there are also Hood-Winks, small green creatures who are responsible for our nightmares. NiteKap's plan is to transform every Wink into a Hood-Wink.

Through the game you can collect many things like Cogs, Zs, Moons, Dreamkeys and tokens. The cogs allow you to enter locked doors if you collect the right amount. Zs represent you life and if you run out of Zs it's Game Over. You need to collect Dreamkeys in order to proceed to the next level. They come in 3 colors : red, blue and green. There are 2 types of tokens: R and T tokens. R of course for Ruff and T for Tumble. If you collect 10 of them you'll get an extra life. The moons allow you to use a special attack called the 'Scream Attack'.

Speaking of attack. There are 3 ways to attack: a general one, a butt-stomp attack and the screaming one. Oh and if you jump into the jack-in-the-box you'll come out in a costume. You can be a ninja, a caveman and others. The siblings have different attacks in their costumes. And you can press certain switches only in these forms.

The game is a solid platformer. It's not too hard but at some points it is tricky. The levels are great. You travel through different time periods like Pirate time, Dinosaur time, The future and so on. It's not very long but it's worth replaying because some ares only Ruff can enter and some only Tumble. The bosses are good. The music is music in my ears.

I really recommend this game for people for like cute things and love platformers. Oh and the game has some really nice cutscenes.

ALUNDRA 2

Alundra 2 : A new legend begins is an action RPG game for the PS1. It was developed by Matrix Software. Unlike the first game this one is in 3D and it has nothing to do with the first one. The story is completely different and new. Another difference between the games is the story , while in Alundra 1 the story was dark this time the story is light-hearted.

The player controls Flint a young boy who is been hunted by pirates. He uses a sword to fight enemies and he also has a shield. Through the game you can get better weapons and oyu can also get combos from a swordmaster called Lord Jeehan by collecting puzzle tiles. Where can you find puzzle tiles? Well there all over the world in  treasure chests. And sometimes they're very tricky to find. You will also get Elemental rings which grant special powers like floating in the air or walk over lava.

The story starts on a flying ship which is controlled by humanoid robots. Flint is here because he followed 3 pirates : Zeppo Ruby and Albert. He is hunting them because pirates killed his parents. He finds out that the evil sorcerer Mephisto can create mechanical men with some kind of keys. He works for Baron Diaz. Who is Baron Diaz you ask? Well is an evil guy who captured the king of Varuna and he wants to marry Princess Alexia so that he can become the new king. Alexia manages to escape and later she meets Flint and they decide to work together. However later in the game she is captured and brought to Baron Diaz as well as Flint. Who then helps Diaz so that Alexia can be free again. And so our hero starts looking for Artifacts that can show where the Varuna treasure is. But it turns out that it was all a lie created by Mephisto and they actually reveal that he just wanted to find the nerve of the planet so that he can insert his Star Key to transform the planet and take control of it. But our heroes manage to defeat him.

I share very good memories with this game. I never actually played the first one. Many people didn't like because it wasn't like the 1st one but I tell you play because it is a brilliant game. And if you forget the it's a sequel it will also be for you. I give this game 8/10 points because it has it's flaws. But hey it's still a great game and an awesome action RPG. And if you are a fan of those games go on and play it.

CRASH BANDICOOT WARPED REVIEW

Crash Bandicoot 3 or as it's called Warped was my very first game ever. Not only for PS1 but also overall. That means I share a lot of memories with this game. The game is very easy to master. It has smooth controls not anything too complicated.

The main protagonist is Crash (obviously) and he need to fight Dr. Neo Cortex (again). This time Cortex has a new helper this time - the evil mask Uka Uka. He is also the twin brother of Aku Aku who help Crash and his sister Coco.
Uka Uka finds N Tropy and asks him to build a time machine so that they can travel through time and collect all the crystals. Sounds simple right? Well it would be if there wasn't Crash.

The gameplay is very fun. There are many different themed levels thanks to the time travel mechanic. There is a medieval level, water level, ancient Egyptian themed, the future oh and you can also fly in a plane, ride on a baby tiger and baby dinosaur ( there is also a level where you run away from it's mother), Jetski level and a freaking motorbike level (how cool is that). The bosses are also amazing, my favorite being the 4th one. And after every boss Crash gets a new power up. He  can get Super charged body slam , Double Jump, Death Tornado Spin, Fruit Bazooka and Crash Dash. The last one is very helpful for collecting all the relics. And you need relics to unlock special stages. In some of the special stages you can get a color gem which unlocks a special path in a regular level. Besides those 2 things you can also collect Wumpa Fruit which give you a life if you collect 100 and regular gems by breaking all the crates.

The game is very fun and I would recommend everyone who has a PS1 PS2 PS3 PSP or Vita and to all the platform jumper lovers .And also if you have a PS4 that's even better because the remake of the trilogy will be available in 2017.

Tomba review

Tombi or Tomba is a side-scrolling platformer for the PS1. You control a boy named Tomba who is searching for his grandpa's bracelet that was stolen by evil pigs.

The game looks really funny and graphics is awesome. It has a little difficulty  but it's not really that hard. Through the game you need to jump over many obstacles. There is a windy mountain, a lava cave, an old mansion, a forest ... On your way you will find many enemies like demon pigs, evil birds and many other enemies. You can kill them with the weapons Tomba finds like a blackjack, 3 different boomerangs ( wooden iron and stone)and my personal favorite a grapple which can also help you to get to unreachable places.

The story takes place in a once peaceful land but is now cursed because of the koma pigs.Your objective now is to defeat all of them to get to their main island where the last boss is located.
But what truly make this game great are the quests. On your way you will encounter many people who have problems and your task is to help them. Some can be annoying but they're usually really fun.

Another great thing in this game are the characters. There is this funny monkey called Charles, a boy named Yan who is always hiding and you need to find him, the old wise men and of course your loyal partner Baron.  All of them play a huge  role in the game. For example you can fly with Baron everywhere but you can use him unlimited times.

That's probably it for this game. If you have an old ps1 or maybe a ps2 i would highly recommend you this game. You won't regret it
